About Us
Athelas (ATH-eh-LAS) is the Elvish word for Kingsfoil.
We believe body modification has healing properties. Whether it be piercings to adjust your outer appearance to match your inner feelings and vibes. Or your classic ink therapy.
To choose to do a tattoo or piercing and alter yourself in such a fundamental way, is empowering and a major source of healing. We see people’s grief, their wins, their losses, and so much more.
Beyond that, the time you’ve taken to go get a tattoo or piercing is your own. It’s one of the very few times where you are by yourself for yourself. It’s a great form of meditation, and of mindfulness. Which is so missing in this day and age where everything and everyone is just one text or post away.
Athelas Studios is that quiet space of healing.
